Description
Whiskey: Bruichladdich The Laddie 10 Year Old Single Malt Scotch
A long-awaited whisky from Bruichladdich – a 10 year old comprising solely of unpeated spirit produced since Murray McDavid took over the distillery at the turn of the century. A landmark in their production and the beginning of a new age for the distillery.
Size: 750ML
Proof: 92 (46% ABV)
Age: 10 Year
Origin: Scotland
Distillery: Bruichladdich Distillery
The very first 10 year old whisky to be wholly distilled, aged and bottled following Bruichladdich’s resurrection in 2001. In many ways this marks the beginning of the new era, and this will be snapped up by connoisseurs and collectors. A true milestone bottling. The Laddie Ten is Bruichladdich’s first 10 year old whisky produced after it’s reopening in 2001. An unpeated, non-chill filtered whisky, it is matured chiefly in 1st fill American bourbon barrels with a smattering aged in ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry casks.
Bruichladdich The Laddie 10 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes
Nose: Intense aromas of menthol and wood spices hit the nostrils like smelling salts, but if you aren’t dissuaded by this, you’ll be rewarded with a fairly rich and complex whisky.
Palate: Fruit is present, but you’ll have to hunt for it. Dried herbs and floral heather notes mark the whisky with wood spices and cinnamon sticks on the finish.
Finish: Warm and smooth finish.
