El Destilador tequila (or “The Distiller’s Tequila”) is made under the auspices of the Destileria Santa Lucia (under the NOM Tequilera Newton E Hijos) made to represent the tradition and culture of Mexico. El Destilador comes in highly stylized bottles with metallic etchings and an interesting space-capsule looking shape. El Destilador Anejo tequila is their aged (or “anejo”) expression, meaning it will have aged in oak for at least 1 year. This gives the typically clear tequila a deep color and complexity similar in style to cognac or whiskey.

The producing distillery name “tequilera newton e hijos” changed in 2011 to corporativo destileria santa lucia.

Nose: Medium oak wood, vanilla and raisins with faint hint of citrus.
Palate: Smooth and sweet. Distinct oak wood complemented by vanilla, raisins and honey, with a hint of melon.
Finish: Caramel and smoky notes.
