A limited-edition blended whisky from popular indie bottler and blender Compass Box, The Circle is a marriage of four different whiskies, matured in different types of casks. The core is a fruity, creamy whisky from Tamdhu distillery, that has been matured in a first-fill bourbon barrel, it is supported by sherry-matured whisky from Clynelish. A smoky edge is provided by whisky from Orkney, matured in a re-charred American oak hogshead, and a lighter element is found in a blended whisky, matured in custom French oak casks.

Distillery Information
Tamdhu distillery is a single malt Scotch Speyside whisky distillery, located in the village of Knockando in Banffshire, Scotland. Tamdhu comes from Gaelic for little dark hill. The distillery was founded in 1896 by a group of assemblers, wishing to engage in the production of their own whisky. The first malt whisky was distilled and casked in 1897. It quickly passed on into the hands of Highland Distillers. The history of the distillery was fairly quiet, without changing owners, but still marked by a long dormancy between 1927 and 1947.
